Enter to win 100% green electricity for a year* as well as the honour of naming the newest arrival at Dublin Zoo

As proud sustainability partner to Dublin Zoo we're delighted to announce that the new baby western lowland gorilla is a girl!

The female gorilla was born on 1 April to mother Kafi and father Bangui. It took keepers a few weeks to determine the sex of the baby because mum Kafi had been holding the baby so close to her chest since birth. The newborn is thriving and settling in well with the rest of the gorilla troop at Dublin Zoo.

This birth is hugely significant because western lowland gorillas are classified as critically endangered in the wild.

You are invited to suggest a name for the Zoo’s newest arrival, but just remember only names which reflect the gorilla’s West African origin will be considered. You'll also be in with a chance to win a year's free 100% green electricity and an annual family pass to Dublin Zoo*.
